We have had such a busy month! School is OUT, YAY!!!! And, summer fun is IN!!!!
We spent Memorial Weekend in Gonzales at Lakewood Park! It was Karly's very first camping trip!!! We had so much fun :) And came back sunburn and mosquito bite FREE, that was a plus. On Saturday, Karly played all morning under the big pecan trees in her pack n play, while Daddy went for a boat ride to TRY to catch some fish. They were not very successful, lol. Then after lunch we all went down to the swim area in the river. Karly LOVED the water! She splashed and played in there for about an hour!! Of course it did not take her long to crash once we got out of the water. She slept on me for about an hour, lol. Then we went back to our camp site to celebrate Kristi's, a friend of ours, 30th Birthday. On Sunday, we did all over again :) It was so nice hanging out with our wonderful friends. Great start to summer vacay!!!! (Pics coming soon!)
This past weekend, on the 4th of June, we had a fantastic time with the family!!! Aunt Jenny, Karly, and I rode together up to Burleson for Cousin Asher's 2nd Birthday!!! Aunt Taylor followed behind us. It was such a fun trip! The food was amazing (way to go Dustin!) and the company was even more delightful :) We got to see Uncle Ted, Aunt Cathy, Cousins Dustin, Haley, and of course the Birthday Boy himself, ASHER! And also the rest of Dustin and Haley's friends and family, which are to many to name and I probably couldn't tell you all the names even if I tried, lol. Karly got to get into a pool this time, instead of the river, and she loved it just the same :) I think she is going to take to swimming naturally like her Mommy, hehe.
These have been two AWESOME weekends and I can't wait til this next weekend!!!

Learned the hard way.....
So, this won't be a very long blog, but I think it is well worth posting!
Two nights ago Karly had a VERY rough night! Woke up every hour on the hour and did not want me to put her back down in her crib. Aaron and I had to take turns going back-n-forth ALL night so we could each get some sleep. She has never done this! Finally, Aaron just brought her to bed with us so we could get some rest. Karly held on to my face and did not let go 'til she finally fell into a deep sleep.....poor baby.
Needless to say she slept ALOT the next day, lol. So, we could never figured out why she did that until last night. I was feeding Karly supper when I went to put some food in her mouth with the tip of my finger and OUCH!!!! SHE HAD CUT HER TWO FRONT BOTTOM TEETH!!!! OMG, THAT HURT!!!! So, I learned never put you finger in a hungry, teething baby's mouth, lol...

1/2 Year is Already Here!!!
I can't believe my baby girl is already SIX MONTHS OLD!!!! It has gone by WAY too fast. She is now 14 lbs. 4 oz. and 25 in. long, in the 25th percentile for her age group. So, she is a little on the slim side, but doc says that is to be expected during this time because of all the growth spurts. She is healthy and happy, which is the most important thing :)
Karly has hit many milestones! She is talking (ba ba, ma ma, da da, pa pa), laughing, rolling, smiling, sitting, eating solids, and drinking out of a cup!!! She loves playing with her toys and "reading" her books. She even sings in church, which is a little embarrassing, lol. She also LOVES to dress up! She knows the difference between her normal clothes and her "fancy" dresses. She sits at the mirror staring and smiling at herself, lol. It is so cute!!!
For Karly's Six Month "Birthday" we went to Maxine's downtown Bastrop for breakfast and ate with Pop, Great Granny Eddie, Great Aunt Mary, and Aunt T!!! Then we spent all day at Pop's house. Karly got to meet "Uncle" Norman and Teresa (close friends of the family). Then Aunt Jenny took Karly's Six Month Pics. We had a blast. These were the first set of pics that Karly could actually sit up on her own! She did such a wonderful job. We ended the day by eating a lovely spaghetti dinner made by Nonnie. Overall, Karly had a fabulous day!!!
Thank you Aunt Jenny for the wonderful pictures!!!!!

Karly's First Trip to Fredericksberg, TX
Karly took her first trip to Fredericksberg, TX yesterday, Saturday, March 19, 2011 with her Mommy, Nonnie, Aunt Jenny, and Aunt T! Her eyes were so big, looking around at everything. She loved how windy it was out there. Every time the wind would blow she would scrunch up her nose and give the cheesiest smile, lol....
We had a blast looking at all the sights and historical monuments!
Karly would not stop looking at the wheel going round and round, lol.
We bought accessories for mommy....
.....and for Karly!!!
The stores there are great! I wish we had gone earlier so we could of had more time to shop. We went into a shop called the Hill Country Store and it was awesome!!! You would walk into one little room and then it would connect to another room and then another room. The store went on forever! It had the cutest stuff, which is where we got the necklace and bow. The best part is when Karly picked out which bow she wanted. It was between the bow we got or a little smaller, cheaper bow and of course she picks the more expensive one, hahaha. That's my little shopping partner!!!
We ate at Bejas Grill for supper. The food was great, a little pricey, but great! We ended the night with some cookies from a local bakery and then headed home. It was such a great, short, and sweet trip. Karly is such a good travel baby :) Can't wait til our next adventure!

Love, love, love.....
I heard so many women say "There is no one you will ever love more than your own child(ren)!" And I never knew how right they were until I met my precious baby girl, Karly Marie Hellums! I know that I love my husband, my parents, my sisters, and all of my family so very much, but it is a different kind of love I have for Karly. She is the reason why I have been put here on earth and I am so very thankful :)
On October 02, 2010 at 9:58 a.m. our lives changed in a way we could never imagine. We had the perfect little baby girl with all ten fingers, all ten toes, and looked just like her Daddy!!!. Our prayers had been answered, she was healthy, happy, and came safely into this world! It felt like FOREVER when the nurses took Karly away to clean her up and have the pediatrician check her out. We were told by one of our doctors to let them keep Karly in the nursery for the night so we could get some rest....needless to say that didn't happen, lol.
I can now say that there is no one you will ever love more than your own child(ren)!!!!
